Home is a visually-stunning documentary that takes us on an aerial view of over 50 different countries, displaying some of the most breathtaking imagery our planet has to offer. But that’s where the fun ends. Throughout the entire film, narrator Glenn Close explains how our planet’s borderless ecosystem is an endangered species, and that the resources we’ve been continuously farming (especially within the last hundred years or so) are on the verge of being depleted.

Home offers a very blunt and brutal message: we need to get our act together learn how to play nice with Mother Nature within the next ten years. Otherwise, we will be doomed to dwell in our own private dystopia. You know, like those early 80s post-apocalyptic Mad Max rip-offs that the Italians made.

It’s a pretty harsh film, really. And rather depressing. Seriously. There should be a message on this film reading: “Do not watch Home if you suffer from depression or have suicidal tendencies.”

Our planet is beautiful. It has so much to offer. It’s also our only planet, and we’re killing it.

Thank you, Glenn. We get the message. Now all we have to do is put our petty, greedy squabbling aside and work together to save the world.
